Public Works offers Special/Bulk Collection and Brush Collection services. These services are limited to City of Marion residents who pay for City Solid Waste services.

Special/Bulk Collection Information: 

Special/Bulk collections are scheduled every Monday and must be pre-paid by credit card the week prior to the collection. To schedule, please call 319-377-6367. Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 7am-4pm.

The base/minimum cost is $60 for the first 15 minutes of service, plus $40 for each additional 15 minute increment. The following items have an additional fee:

• Appliances = $10 per unit (including but not limited to: dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, stove, refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, dehumidifier, water heater)
• Electronics = $10 per unit (including but not limited to: computer monitor, copier, fax, printer, scanner, tower)
• Televisions = $15 per unit
• Tires = $10 per tire
• Tires with rims = $15 per tire
• Cardboard = $20 per stop. Please note, Marion's Recycling Drop-Off Center is a free alternative.
• Mattresses = $20 per unit (including hide-a-bed mattresses; excluding futon mattresses and box springs)

Items that are not collected include: toxic/hazardous materials, propane tanks, auto parts, and construction or demolition debris.

Brush collections are scheduled every Tuesday and must be pre-paid the week prior to the collection. To schedule, please call 319-377-6367.

The fee for brush collection is $60 for the first 15 minutes of service, plus $40 for each additional 15 minute increment. NOTE: Limbs may be no larger than 6 inches in diameter and no longer than 8 feet in length.
