The repairs to City streets consist mainly of full-depth concrete patching and asphalt overlays. Public Works completes such projects on an annual basis utilizing over 2,000 cubic yards of concrete and over 4,000 tons of asphalt. Scheduled repairs to City streets are prioritized based upon traffic volumes and level of infrastructure deterioration. This seasonal work is typically completed from March to November.

Public Works also maintains the curbs and gutters within the City right of way. The department programs curb and gutter reconstruction projects annually.

Public Works is responsible for pavement maintenance and receives pothole repair requests throughout the year.

Street sweepers are in operation on a seasonal basis, which is usually March to December. In the spring, City streets are swept several times to clean off the accumulation of debris from the winter months The City’s arterial and collector streets are swept on a monthly basis in the spring and fall. During the summer months, streets are scheduled for sweeping about every six weeks. Generally, residential streets are cleaned every 6-8 weeks throughout the year.
