Marion Parks and Recreation manages the beautiful and historic 

City-owned cemetery located at 789 2nd Avenue. Spaces may be purchased at the Administrative and Operations Office, Thomas Park. If the space is not for an immediate need, it may be purchased on a payment plan. For more information and current prices, please call Thomas Park at 319-447-3580.

Cemetery Rules

All winter decorations must be removed by mid-March. New decorations may be placed after May 15. Fall cleanup is mid-October. Holiday decorations may be placed after Thanksgiving.

Winter Access Limited

Select roads will be closed during the winter due to steep terrain and proximity to headstones. This prevents vehicle accidents, damage to headstones and other items in the cemetery. Staff will also close sections of the cemetery for any needed maintenance throughout the year.
