You may now apply for permits online. We are still accepting in-person, emailed and mailed applications, but have added this online option as well. Your online account will also give you access to past permits you’ve been associated with, see status updates, make payments and more.

*Note - If you currently apply online for permits with another jurisdiction that uses BS&A Online, simply log in with your current credentials and choose City of Marion, Iowa.

Once logged in, under “All Services” choose the "Resident" or “Contractors” tab and then click the box under "Apply for a Permit".

Contractors will need a one-time PIN to initialize the application process. Please call the Building Division at 319-743-6330 to obtain your one-time PIN.

Homeowners will not require a PIN to apply for permits on their own property. Please refer to the Building Permits & Handouts page for information and requirements on specific permit types prior to requesting permits online.
