Licenses & Permits

The City of Marion does not currently require a general business license. However, the following businesses or activities require either a permit or license. Email the City Clerk's Office if you have any questions.

Please note, while licenses for certain businesses may not be required, there may be additional regulations. Please review Chapter 133 of the Code for any additional requirements.

Alcohol Licenses
Cigarette Retail Sales and Tobacco Devices
Fireworks-Commercial Display
Golf Carts
Hold Harmless Agreements
House/Structure Moving and Oversize/Overweight Permit
Mobile Food Unit
Solicitor - Peddler - Transient Merchant

Mobile Food Unit License Holders

Approved Events: Larger events, such as farmers' market, music festival or similar activity that has been approved by the City with a hold harmless permit.

Catered Events: Any event where an individual, business or entity has requested a vendor to provide food or beverages for a targeted audience. Could require a hold harmless if public property is blocked off (i.e., block party).
