City Offices to Close in Observance of Veterans Day
Marion City Hall and other City offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Regular business hours resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Public safety services will continue to be provided.

Marion to Celebrate the Completion of the CeMar Trail Bridge over Marion Boulevard
A ribbon-cutting and lighting ceremony is set for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the base of the gateway bridge that spans Marion Boulevard. Parking is available at Indian Creek Mall, 115 Marion Blvd.

Trick-Or-Treat in Marion on Oct. 31; Special Event Planned at City Hall
Community-wide trick-or-treating in Marion takes place on Halloween. There is no set start time but trick-or-treating should conclude by 8 p.m. Participating residents should turn on their porch lights when they are ready to greet trick-or-treaters and turn them off when finished.

Falliday Market Returns to Lowe Park This Saturday
The Falliday Market, hosted by the Marion Parks and Recreation Department, returns to the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center (4500 N 10th Street, Marion, IA 52302) on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the market will go until 2 p.m.

City of Marion to Begin Automated Curbside Collection on Monday
Beginning on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, solid waste will now be collected in the City-issued standardized carts by equipment operators in trucks equipped with mechanical arms.

Marion Fire Department Urges Residents to Make Sure their Smoke Alarms are Working
According to NFPA, smoke alarms reduce the risk of dying in a home fire by more than half (54 percent). Meanwhile, roughly three out of five fire deaths happen in homes with either no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
