A new mixed-use real estate development is being proposed for the former Marion Public Library site on 6th Avenue, between 10th and 11th Streets in Marion. In collaboration with the City of Marion, this potential project will be led by Gronen (Dubuque, IA) and Kilbourne Group (Fargo, ND).

Marion City Hall will be closed to the public on Monday, Feb. 17, for annual cleaning. Other City facilities, including Police, Fire, Public Services, Parks and Recreation, Marion Water Department and the Marion Public Library will be open normal business hours.

The City of Marion has called off the Winter Storm Parking ban that was issued for Saturday, Feb. 15. The National Weather Service has reduced the amount of snow in the forecast and it no longer meets the 3 inch threshold for an on-street parking ban.

City crews have completed snow removal operations in Marion from Wednesday’s storm as of 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The on-street parking ban for all city streets has been lifted and on-street parking can resume. The ban was in place to minimize the hazards associated with snow removal operations.
