Marion Pool Open House to be Held During First Farmers Market at Willowood Park

As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the future of Marion’s aquatic offerings, the Parks and Recreation Department will host a public open house at the Marion Pool on Saturday, May 3, from 8–11 a.m. at Willowood Park during the weekly farmers market.

Marion Farmers Market Returns on May 3 in New Location at Willowood Park

The Marion Farmers Market reopens for the season on Saturday, May 3, at Willowood Park, 1855 35th Street, Marion. The market will be open every Saturday from 8-11 a.m. through Sept. 27, 2025. In addition, Marion City Council members will hold their weekly office hours at the market.

Asphalt Overlay Program to Begin on May 5

On Monday May 5, 2025, LL Pelling will begin work on the 2025 Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) Resurfacing Project. This work is expected to take up to 2 weeks, weather dependent. Additional notices will be sent as the project progresses.

Beginning on Monday, April 28, 2025, the business hours at the Arts & Environment Center will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Saturday. It will be closed on Sundays but will remain available for rentals.

Hydrant Flushing to Begin April 14

Flushing hydrants is an important preventive maintenance activity that verifies proper operation of the City’s fire hydrants and ensures adequate water flow will be available if the need for firefighting arises. Flushing also removes sediment that naturally accumulates in water mains.
