Portions of 6th Avenue and Boyson Road Close on Monday for Pavement Patching; Work Continues on 29th Avenue
On Monday, July 14, 2025, Cedar Falls Construction will begin new segments of the 2025 Pavement Patching Project. Three high-traffic road segments will be closed so that crews can repair roadways and extend the life of those showing signs of deterioration.

Marion Police and Fire Departments Respond to Residential Fire Resulting in Fatality

July 9 Reception Planned to Introduce Candidates to be Marion's Next Chief of Police
Marion residents and members of the business community are invited to a public reception on Wednesday, July 9, to meet the four finalists who will be interviewing to be Marion’s next chief of police. The open house will take place at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center from 6-7:30 p.m.

Movies on the Move Series Returns to Neighborhood Parks in Marion This Friday
One Friday per month in June, July and August, an outdoor movie will be shown at select neighborhood parks in Marion. The movies are scheduled to begin around 8:30 p.m. or dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs/blankets for open lawn seating. Outside food and drink are permitted.

Heat Relief Locations for Marion Residents

Legislative Changes to Fireworks Use in Marion
Fireworks may be purchased and used only by persons 18 years of age or older, and used only with the property owner’s permission. Fireworks may NOT be used in public parks. Any other dates and times are authorized by permit only.

7th Avenue between 10th and 12th Streets to Close on Saturday for Uptown Marion Market
Seventh Avenue between 10th and 12th Streets will close at 6 a.m. on Saturday for vendor move-in and will remain closed until 1 p.m. to accommodate move-out. Detours will be posted.

2025 Sidewalk Ramp Project to Begin
When necessary, during construction, limited partial lane closures are anticipated with this project. During work on each street/intersection, direct access to properties may be impacted. (Except for emergencies). Hunt Construction will notify the property/business owners of the access restrictions.
