Individuals can bring any unwanted, sensitive documents to the locked shred bin in the library’s media section on the main level. Documents can be dropped off anytime during library operating hours. To ensure capacity for all who would like to participate, individuals are limited to one box per day.

Those elected to serve on Marion City Council in the November election will take a ceremonial oath of office on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. It will be the first order of business during the regular City Council meeting. A reception with light refreshments will be held from 4:30-5:15 p.m.

Marion Fire Department Lieutenant Jeff Madland, Lieutenant Zach Bruce and Firefighter Zach Brunscheen have successfully completed the process that awards the professional designation of Fire Officer (FO). These individuals become three of only 706 FOs worldwide, and three of 18 in the State of Iowa.
