This week, Marion households will receive a survey in the mail seeking feedback to determine how to replace the Marion Pool at Willowood Park.
The City of Marion has been exploring options to replace the existing facility with an aquatics park to be built on land bordered by 31st Street, 35th Street and Munier Road, north of Highway 100. Before moving any further, the City needs to understand how much of an investment, if any, taxpayers are willing to make.
The City has partnered with Community Perceptions, an independent research firm, to gather confidential feedback through a series of questions. Residents have until July 28, 2025, to respond online or by mail using a unique survey code.
The results will be compiled by the research firm and used to help inform the City Council as they determine whether or not to pursue a referendum in November.
Residents interested in obtaining additional surveys for other adults in their household should call the Marion Parks and Recreation Department at 319-447-3580.
