On Tuesday, June 11, and for the remainder of the week, lap swim will be offered from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and open swim will occur from 1-4 p.m. The pool will close at 4 p.m. this Tuesday through Friday for evening swim lessons.

The Marion Municipal Pool is closed due to broken glass in the pool which was caused by a broken light. The pool must be drained and refilled. It will be closed through the weekend and a status update will be provided on Monday morning.

The City of Marion and RDG Planning and Design are hosting a workshop on Wednesday, June 12, to help inform an update to the City’s Comprehensive Plan - Marion 2045: A Plan to Reach New Heights. The consultant and City staff will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m. that day.

This year, 109 banners are on display honoring veterans and military personnel with ties to Marion. The banners will be up through Veterans Day 2024.

Each household served by the City of Marion will be automatically enrolled in the standard service. This includes two large 64/68* gallon carts, one for garbage and one for recycling. The monthly rate will increase by $6 (from $20 to $26) and goes into effect on July 1.

Marion City Hall and other City offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day all week. Pick-up will occur Tuesday through Saturday.

Seventh Avenue between 10th and 12th Streets will close at 5 a.m. on Friday, May 17, for vendor move-in and will remain closed until 9 p.m. on Saturday. Detours will be posted.

The City of Marion will host Pop-Up Acts in the Uptown Artway this summer on Friday evenings. Enjoy free live music from the Uptown Artway or the patio of a nearby business from 6-8 p.m. The event series will feature a variety of local and regional acts.
